Fetus Development
|
Fetal development - Fetal development is the process in which a fetus develops during gestation, from the time of conception until birth.
Haptic - Haptic means pertaining to the sense of touch. It is the earliest sense to develop in the fetus, and the development of infants' haptic senses, and how that relates to the development of the other senses such as vision, has been the target of much research.
Maternal Passive Immunity - Maternal passive immunity refers to antibody-mediated immunity conveyed on a fetus by its mother during development. IgG is passed through the placenta to the fetus by an FcRn receptor on placental cells.
Ductus arteriosus - In the developing fetus, the ductus arteriosus (DA) is a shunt connecting the pulmonary artery to the aortic arch that allows most of the blood from the right ventricle to bypass the fetus' fluid-filled lungs. During fetal development, this shunt protects the lungs from being overworked and allows the right ventricle to strengthen.
